5 June 2012 BELFAST Tuesday

Sure enough, the weatherman was right with his rain forecast, which meant a trip to Belfast for us, as our plan was to stay out of the rain.

Our first sight of Belfast was the huge portrayal of their troubled past as murals on the Peace Walls.
It was very moving to read the thousands of messages written all the way along the length of the mural in Cupar Way.

From what we understood, the Shankill area was segregated from The Falls area with a massive dividing wall when all the trouble occurred and support for both Loyalists and Republicans can still clearly be seen with the Union Jack and Irish flags flying valiantly above many a roof.

Lunch was recommended from our tourist book in the Cathedral Quarter at John Hewitt, next to, well, St Anne's Cathedral.

Thereafter, Samantha our dear GPS-lady-person lead us on a wild goose chase to the supposed Titanic Experience.  However, Keith wisened up to her antics and we found our way in good time for our booking.  It was indeed another moving experience to be in the dock where the Titanic was built and just imagine all the people hurrying around working and building her.
