Late brekky fry-up to get us started followed by Kit and Dal going up north to Croghan to visit relatives and Mum, Keith, Al and I going to Galway Shopping Centre.
As we entered the shopping centre, we were greeted first by a fat round medieval tower and secondly, by a very informative security man who informed us that the tower and adjoining wall were discovered while excavating the area to build the centre, which was subsequently built around the tower and wall.
Next on our list was Lynch's Castle, which wasn't really a castle afterall, but just Mr Lynch's house which he deemed to be his castle and which now houses the Bank of Ireland.
The rain inhibited our stroll along the outdoors walking mall so we turned back for lunch indoors, consisting of seafood chowder. And so to home.
