25 May 2012 STIRLING OLD TOWN Friday

Mostly a home day today with the exception of a tour of Old Town Jail, conducted by the talented Jail-Warden-Police-Office-Criminal man, whose squint did much for his multiple persona's.

After being captured and threatened with a hanging, we were left to our own devices while exploring the prison, which was originally across the road in the Tolbooth building and was reputed as being the worst jail in Britain.  However, thanks to a dear lady who orchestrated change but whose name I have forgotten, we now treat our inmates with grace and care!!  Photo's were prohibited I'm afraid.

Home then drinks at the local Foresters Arms full of character and characters, just 100m up the road from our cottage. Watched the sun set shortly after 9.30PM!!
