Big Day Out today, beginning with the truly magnificent Gloucester Cathedral, full of Normandy and Gothic wonder, which began in 1089! Highlights for me, included Henry II impressive high-vaulted tomb, the Great East Window the size of a tennis court, built 1350 and the outstanding fan vaulting in The Cloisters, invented in Gloucester in 1350.
We found these two obliging statue-holders at the entrance!
After a quick lunch at the Fountain pub, our sightseeing continued to satisfy our curiosity for the Tailor of Gloucester shop from the Beatrix Potter story of the same name. It was very cute as we watched the mice busily at work on the famous waistcoat. This is the exact view drawn in the story book...
Short drive home with a pit-stop at the Old Neighbourhood Pub where we found this guy trying to be cool...

Roller coaster taxi ride to British Oak for a dinner and spotted dick!
