5 March 2012 FOREST OF DEAN Monday

My FAVOURITE day so far!!!

The Forest of Dean is said to be the inspiration for Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter for it's magical qualities, so we set off, determined to find the qualities spoken of.  Oh I can't wait to show you what we saw in the forest, after the places we went first, so I'll show you the rest after this.

SPOT THE GOBLIN!!!
Comment if you find him (use name/url and ignore the url)!

Right, I'm calm enough again to show you the first Church to be built in the forest in the 1300's.
This was in Newlands where we stopped for info and a coffee.

We then came across the Clearwell Castle, which was built by a member of the Newlands Church

And of course, enjoyed the rest of the glorious Forest of Dean.
In my element. I simply loved it!

Back to Fir Tree Cottage and Kit and Dal's arrival for the rest of the week - wait till they see the narrow lanes - YIKES!
