6 March 2012 CHEDWORTH ROMAN VILLA Tuesday

Another glorious England spring day and so after a late brekky fry-up with Kit and Dal (having arrived safely in the DARK on those narrow lanes), we aimed for Chedworth (Northleach) Roman Villa, but made an unprecidented stop at Bibury trout farm to feed ducks, swans, swan-ducks and trout. Then we walked to the famous, yet rather unremarkable, Arlington Way cottages which are 750 years old.

Next, our planned trip to said Roman Villa to view astongishingly intricate mosaic floor coverings and numerous rooms, baths and grounds of the huge estate.

On our way home via Cirencester we stopped for a fly-by peek at a non-existent Roman amphitheatre, complete with ferocious livestock playing ball! and back to Chalford Hills Old Neighbourhood Pub for a drinks stop.  Good old South African braai bringing a superb day to an end.
