8 December 2011 TREBARWITH STRAND Thursday

With just a little bit of wind trying to deter us, we decided to walk along the shore of Trebarwith Strand just 200m from The Mill House, and along the coastline to King Aurthur's castle.
We got to the shore midway between low and high tide and managed to cross the exposed flat rocks, until we got around the corner and realised there is no access to the rest of the beach.  Determined, we found the coastal path up the hill and made a slow ascent, stopping to admire the eclectic view of sheep, cows and ocean.  As we neared the top the wind started to get blustery, pushing and shoving us around a little bit.  The higher we got, the more fierce it became, whipping my hair everywhere, knocking us off balance and causing great gasps of air into my mouth as I tried to tell Al to go down instead.  Finally, with much flailing of my arms, he got the message and down we went.  Luckily we found a more sheltered path that came out a little way on, onto the road.
We made it to Tintagel, with Al stopping to feed cows along the way, which, incidentally, occupy the vast majority of "Public Footpath" and is not very footpath-friendly at all.
King Arthur's Castle will have to wait until the wind isn't on a death mission for us.

Down there in the far, far valley is where we started walking and the initial path goes up the other side of this hill in front of us.
